LABMOB participates in Scientists for Cycling and Velo-city Access to Life 2018 in Rio de Janeiro


In partnership with the European Cyclists' Federation, LABMOB organized the scientific sessions of the Scientists for Cycling during the Velo-City Rio 2018 for the first time in the Southern Hemisphere! Severals inspiring studies on cycling issues were presented during this event, such as Integration between metro and bicycle in Rio de Janeiro in a socioeconomic perspective, by Letícia Quintanilha; Mobility, Energy, and Health, by Pedro Paulo M. Bastos and Victor Andrade; The active mobility in Brazil: advances in the scentific research, by Filipe Marino, Pedro Paulo M. Bastos and Regina Silva; Cycle path in Pinheiros, São Paulo: impact study on the local economic vitality, by Marcela Kanitz and Victor Andrade; among others.

At the Velo-City Access to Life 2018 sessions, we participated in other different moments: LABMOB architect and coordinator Victor Andrade moderated the session "Dutch and Danish Cycle Planning" and presented the Brazilian Bicycle Economy study in the session "Bicycles : a business of impact ". Our scientific coordinator, Juciano Rodrigues, moderated the session "The Profile of Latin American Cyclist". Other researchers presented studies such as Filipe Marino, with Bicycle active mobility, infrastructure and right to the city in Rio de Janeiro, and Pedro Paulo M. Bastos, with The bicycle economy for a personal use: a qualitative approach.
